Now that you've entered your Car search parameters, let's take a look at the next steps to fulfilling this travel need. First, we show you a few scenarios regarding choosing agency locations. Then we have some detailed information about the Results screen and booking the car.
So click "Search" and let's go!

Select Pickup/Dropoff Locations & Map Tips!
To break it down, you will select a location if your car itinerary is:
1 - One-way in which both locations are non-airport
2 - One-way in which either pickup or dropoff is non-airport
3 - Roundtrip in which pickup/dropoff is a non-airport
You will not select a location if your itinerary is one-way or roundtrip in which both locations are airports:
How do I select a location? We're glad you asked!
Let's use an example in which the car will be picked up at Chicago O'Hare airport and dropped off in South Bend, Indiana. The search parameters look like:
Click "Search" and a map page appears. You will select the city location that makes sense for your traveler's trip.
Map tips:
- You will see the results in the list have numbered pins that are also shown on the map. Click on an option in the list and the pin will be highlighted in the list and on the map. Conversely, if you hover over a location on the map, that pin will be highlighted on the map and in the list. A pop-up box will also appear on the pin in the map.
- In dense city centers, there may be multiple numbers in the same location which results in a number covering others beneath it. In this example, agencies at #3, 5, 6, 7, and more are at the South Bend airport, but only the #6 pin is visible. Zoom in the map (using the mouse scroll or the map zoom buttons) and you will see the individual numbers spread out.
- As you zoom or re-center the map, the list of options on the left will change and/or be renumbered to only show what is visible on the map view.
- If you hover over a pin on the map, a small pop-up will appear providing that location's agency and address.
Here is the same map shown above, zoomed in to focus on the city of South Bend:
The listed options have been filtered and re-numbered to show the options on my new map.
Map tip:
- To search for a location by address, type it in the "Search Place" text box above the map, then click out of the text box to refresh the map. Note: You must click anywhere away from the box to update the map. A gray pin will then appear at your chosen address.
For example, you want a rental agency near Notre Dame University, so type that in the text box and click away. A gray marker indicating the location of the university and the choices that are nearby appear on the map.
Map tip:
If you would like to choose the Enterprise (pin #2) just south of campus, you have two options:
- First, you can click on the corresponding "Select" button in the list (it appears when you hover the mouse).
- Second, you can click on the desired pin on the map and then click the "Select" button in the pop-up (here I zoomed in on the location so the number changed to 1). Note: you have to click on the pin for the pop-up to stay active. If you just hover over the pin, the pop-up will disappear when you are no longer hovering.
Once you click "Select", Atriis will gather all the options offered by that agency and provide them on the next screen. Keep reading!
Result screen overview
Here's an example; we'll take a look at each section of the page.
At the very top of the screen, under your trip number banner, there is a vertical display of car classes. This provides a summary of the lowest rate for each class per your search. Further, the overall lowest rate will be in green font.
Note: The rate shown here is the total rate for the duration of the rental; it is NOT the daily rate.
Tip! If you click on a class of car in this display, your result list below will be filtered to only show that class of service (more on sorting and filtering in the next article).
If there are additional car classes, the vertical display can be scrolled by clicking the arrow buttons ("<" and ">") on either side of the vertical list. In this example, and most cases, all the results will fit here without needing to scroll.
In this example, the lowest rate is $229.95 and is available in economy and compact.
Looking down the page, you will see the "Generate Price Offer" button. Learn more about this feature in a dedicated Car Price Offer article (coming soon!). Below that are the column headings and then the result list.
The column headings control sort and filter functionality and are described in the next article below. The result list contains one vendor / car class per row.
Each result in the list will contain:
- Rental Agency (red underline) Contains the agency icon and icons for any applicable TMC or corporate agreements.
- Price (yellow) Shows the total rate for the entire duration of the rental - it is not the daily rate. Again, if the font is green, it is the lowest rate available for your itinerary. The time payment is due is also indicated here; typically pre-pay and pay on departure are the options. If a rate is out of policy for your corporate account, there will be an "OOP" icon.
- Note: OOP just warns the agent this result is OOP and will need to be justified at the end of the process; it can still be booked.
- Car Class / Car Options (green) displays the class and options included with the vehicle.
- The Station Location (purple) is the agency location(s).
- Under the car image is a link to the Terms and Conditions; this provides all the fine print you know and love: location, working hours, price breakdown, mandatory charges, and optional charges.
Sort and Filter Functionality
Sort
You can sort by Rental Agency, Price, Car Class, and Station Location by clicking on the corresponding column heading. A blue symbol added to the heading will indicate the direction of the sort.
- Click the heading once and the results will be sorted in ascending order.
- This means that the Rental Agency, Car Class, and Station Location will be sorted alphabetically and the Price will be sorted lowest-to-highest.
- = sorted ascending
- Click the heading a second time to reverse the sort order
- The sort will be Z->A or highest-to-lowest, respectively
- = sorted descending
Here we are sorting alphabetically by Rental Agency:
Filter
You can filter results on: Rental Agency, Price, Car Class, and Car Options. This allows you to only see desired options; all others will be hidden from view. You can filter on one or more columns, and one or more values within each column. The result list will be updated in real-time - while you are choosing your filter options.
Simply click the filter icon in the bottom-right of the column heading to reveal the related filter options.
Note: The available options will be based on the actual results of your search. For example, if your search results do not include rentals from Enterprise, you will not be able to select Enterprise as a filter value.
- Filter on Rental Agency allows you to select the specific vendor(s) from the full result list that you want to see.
- Filter on Price provides a sliding scale for you to indicate the minimum/maximum total rate you want to see. The range shown is based on the actual lowest price and highest price in the results. Again, this is the total rate for the entire rental period; it is not the daily rate.
- Filter on Car Class allows you to select only the specific class(es) from the full list.
- Filter on Car Options allows you to select the specific option(s) from the full list. Note that an option may be grayed out if it is not available (ie: there are no manual transmission vehicles available in this search result).
Give the "Only" feature a try: If you only want one option in the filter list, you don't have to manually uncheck all the others. Simply hover over the item you want and an "Only" link will appear. Click it and all the options will be unchecked except for the desired one.
So...hover over economy: | And click "Only": |
Let's put it all together! If your traveler wants the least-expensive economy car, you can quickly click "Price" to sort ascending and filter on "Car Class" to "Only" show Economy. You can see how you modified your result list and you will immediately be presented with your options:
Book Now|Add to Cart
But what's the difference?
- The "+ Trip Cart" button will save the selection to your Atriis trip and in your Trip Cart. It is not added to a PNR and you are not committed to purchasing it but it will be there if your traveller wants it.
- The "+ BOOK" button allows you to reserve the car immediately from the results page. The selection will be added to the PNR and Trip Cart and the status in the cart will be "On Hold" or "Confirmed", depending on your configurations.
Add to Trip Cart
Once you click "+ Trip Cart", the button will change to "Added". You can remove it from the cart by clicking on the trash can icon adjacent to the "Added" text.
The Trip Cart icon on the top-right of your booking screen will increase in number to show the new segment added.
Take a look in your Trip Cart. The status for this segment will be 'Pending Booking". No PNR is created at this point.
When ready, select the segment and click "Checkout". Please note, the process flow or screens shown here may differ from yours depending on your Atriis admin settings.
Acknowledge that you've read the Terms and Conditions and click "Book" or "Book and Send for Approvals". Now your car segment is booked!
Book
If your traveler is going to Mexico City and is ready to reserve a car, you choose the car and click "+ BOOK".
First, if your traveler hasn't already been added to the booking, you will be prompted to do so now.
You will then be allowed to enter any applicable options. On any of the option screens, you may enter data (or not) and:
- Click "+ Book" to save any data and go straight to the Trip Cart.
- Click "Save and Next" to page through the options, entering data only where needed.
- Click "Close" to cancel this car choice; you will be returned to the results screen.
For example, if you only have a coupon to add, do not add data on the Loyalty ID page, just click "Save and Next"; do the same on the Special Request page; add the coupon on the Add Coupon page and click "+ Book".
Each time you click "Save and Next", Atriis will notify you that any changes have been saved to your booking.
When you click "Book", you will see this pop-up while Atriis is working on saving this booking. You may click one of the four buttons to add a flight, add a hotel, add another car, or view your Trip Cart, respectively.
You will be notified when the car has been added to the booking.
Notification of Success
- Show the full itinerary, including car segment
- Show the record locator (PNR)
- The status will change to "Confirmed"
Don't forget: at any time, you can expand the details of a segment in your cart by toggling the down arrow button on the far right.
At this point, Atriis will either send the PNR to approval or the ticketing queue, per your system configuration.
Cancelling a Car Segment
You will be prompted to confirm the segments about to be canceled.
- "Return" will cancel or stop the requested cancellation
- "Cancel Item" will confirm and proceed with the requested cancellation
Booking a Saved Car Trip
Recall, back in the "Book Now" section when you checked out, we gave the booking a name:
Now, when you start any Car search, there will be a "My Easy Trips" button present. Click to view saved trips.
The only trip is "VancouverCar" trip. So click on the link...
...and the location info is pre-populated. Simply enter the dates.
The rental agency is already chosen, so "Search"!
You will be presented with the search results that allow you to choose the class of service and then check out. Easier than pie!
